The survival of the Human Race is up to you!  We are going to use the most essential tool set, Google Apps for Education, to help save you and others from a Zombie Apocalypse.  Don’t worry you don’t need to be the master of Google Apps for Education, this session is designed to introduce you to these tools (beginner / low intermediate session).  The plan is for you research and create a zombie survival guide and direct other humans to the ideal relocation zone.  The tools you will gain experience using are Google ... Docs, Drawing, Texthelp Study Skills Add-on, and Maps.  You may not have been prepared for this zombie breakout, but there is no time to waste.  The Human Race is counting on your desire to quickly learn Google Apps and save them from this Zombie Apocalypse.


Part 1: Getting up to speed

  1. Google Drive - Organization is key! Create a folder in Drive called RockstarLJ. Share that folder with reubenhoffman@gmail.com and danmcdowell@gmail.com
  2. Let's start by learning a bit about how zombies become zombies. Click here to open up the document and follow the instructions at the top.

Part 2: Research time!

  1. Now we need to figure out the best place to relocate and develop some tips on how to survive in your new home. You can never be too safe during a Zombie Apocalypse! Open up the Zombie Research Guide and follow the instructions!

Part 3: Maps and Drawings

This final part has three sections.

  1. First, plot your selection location on this shared Zombie Apocalypse Google Map. Click on the pin, and drop it in the appropriate location.
  2. Second, create your poster in Google Drawing. Think It should include:
    1. The name of the spot you have chosen to relocate, with a short justification.
    2. Five - seven tips to survive the Zombie Apocalypse.
    3. At least one image.
  3. Finally, when you are finished with your drawing, publish it to the world and paste the URL to the image URL option on to the Google Map.
Part 4: Review and Voting
  1. We have almost made it... now look at everyone's posters through the Google Map. The use this form to vote for your favorites.
